Breakups are difficult to handle, and being dumped is the worst feeling ever.

Is there a story unfolding in your community? Let Hivisasa know

It feels as though your stomach is going to fall out your butt.

Though the journey to recovery is never easy, here are tips to help you make it through alive:

1. Cut off all contacts

This is the hardest part but the most necessary.

The moment someone dumps you, no matter the reason they offered, it's because they don't want to be with you anymore, including not wanting to hear from you.

Therefore, the moment you hear the words "It's over" cut off all contacts and decide on no texts, no phone calls, no Facebook messages, no Instagram DMs, no drunk texting or drunk calling, nothing!

2. Don't stalk him/her on social media

Why on earth would you want to torture yourself by watching him virtually move on and enjoying life after you?

Crying over his status updates about how happy he is with another girl or his 'boyz' at the bar won't make you feel better. It will worsen the situation.

If you want to survive this, go ahead and unfollow your ex, unfollow their friends and family, so you don't accidentally see him/her in a photo. Delete all their photos and untag all the photos of you two.

If you stick to this, he/she will get curious and may start the stalking instead.

3. Give up the ghosting

While doing all the non-stalking and no-contacting, you also need to accept that it is over between you two.

If you can't accept your relationship is over, you will be keeping hope in your heart in a place that it doesn't belong, and it will hurt you in the long run.

Therefore, gather all the strength you have and move on as if nothing happened.
