The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) on Tuesday morning launched a raid on the county boss’ homes in Nairobi and  Migori.

Also raided were the county offices in Migori, a situation that happened in his absence as the county chief is currently in the capital.

The team of detectives and security officers pitched tent outside his offices in the county, a situation that has since led to fear among his officials.

According to the Nation, senior officials have avoided their offices in fear of being nabbed, in an operation, the EACC officials have termed as big and most likely to bring out casualties.

"We are here for a major operation. You will see what happens," one of the officers is quoted.

Details of what the detectives are looking for are however scanty, with the real reason behind the raid yet to be fully revealed.

This comes only a few weeks after the commission accused Obado of using fraudulent companies to syphon close to Ksh2 Billion shillings from the county.

Consequently, some officers of the county have recorded statements with the watchdog over the alleged activity that reportedly saw Sh1, 971,179,180 lost to fraudulent deals over the last three years.
