Led by Kenya Farmers Association (KFA) Director Kipkorir Menjo, the farmers lamented that despite holding a meeting with the leaders a month ago where they gave many promises nothing has been done yet.

“It's sad that despite us having a meeting with elected leaders from the region and promising us heaven, nothing has borne fruits over our Sh3.5 billion NCPB owes us," said Menjo in Eldoret town on Monday.

He further expressed concerns that even in the recently read national budget estimates, the pay was not factored in.

He reiterated that in the recent read budget the amount was not factored in living farmers not knowing what to do.

“As I am talking, our children have not gone to school, Agriculture Finance Cooperation (AFC) want to sell our farms due to the money we took, we cannot even go to the hospital since we don’t have the funds,” lamented the KFA director who called on President Uhuru Kenyatta to intervene and save them from the problems they are currently facing by ensuring that their dues are paid.

Menjo also urged the Cabinet Secretary for Agriculture Mwangi Kiunjuri to reopen the NCPB depots so as to allow farmers deliver more produce.

He said there are over 500,000 bags of maize that are in farmers stores across the country. for farmers to take their produce since farmers have more than 500,000 bags.
