Homa Bay County Women Representative Gladys Wanga and Rangwe Member of Parliament Dr. Lilian Gogo have this holiday organized a youth soccer tournament.
Dr. Gogo's Kuza Talanta tournament begins on 1st December 2018 to 8th December 2018, while Wanga's Mashinani NGAAF tournament 2018 has been going on since 11th November 2018 and will continue up to 26th December 2018.
Wanga's Mashinani tournament, which is sponsored by the National Government Affirmative Action Fund (NGAAF), started from the ward level and the best teams will proceed all the way to the county level finals.
With the organization of such sporting activities in the grassroots level, the two leaders are giving the young people of Homa Bay County to explore their talents and a platform to shine and get breakthrough to the professional football.
Talents have proven to be one of the best paying careers in the world with professional footballers such as Messi and Ronaldo who are considered the world's finest footballers earning far more than even the presidents.
This is a step in the right direction, as equipping the young generation who have the talent is a great way of ensuring the community develops in other activities.
