Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya on Sunday pitched camp in Ugenya constituency, ahead of looming buy election for the Ugenya parliamentary seat.

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Deputy Party Leader led a host of other national leaders to drum up support for the party's candidate in the race Chris Karan.

The leaders included area elected politicians and others drawn as far as Busia and neighbouring counties, as well as other non-elected party leaders.

They included party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna and his deputy Agnes Zani. Others were the candidate Chris Karan who received a great endorsement from his colleagues.

Also present was Budalangi lawmaker Raphael Wanjala, Kakamega Senator Cleo Malala and Siaya Senator James Orengo who has been leading the campaigns.

Others were Rangwe MP Lilian Gogo, Busia Woman Representative Florence Mutua, Seme legislator James Nyikal and his Alego Usonga counterpart Sam Atandi.

Also present was Migori Senator Ochillo Ayacko and Saboti MP Caleb Amisi, as per the pictures posted on the party Facebook page.

This comes at a time when the party boss and opposition leader Raila Odinga has been missing in action, after excusing himself from the campaigns earlier in the month.

The area voters were sent back to the polls after a Supreme Court nullification of Karan's August 8, 2017 elections following a petition by his predecessor David Ochieng'.
