The French President's visit was confirmed by Ambassador to Kenya  Aline Kuster Manager when she paid a courtesy call on President Uhuru Kenyatta at State House, Nairobi on Monday.

"French President Emmanuel Macron will make a two-day State visit to Kenya next month," State House announced in a statement on Monday.

The visit by the French head of state will be among high ranking diplomats who have visited Kenya since President Kenyatta took power in 2013.

Last year, Nairobi welcomed Catholic Church's Pope Francis, the 44th US president Barrack Obama, US First Lady Melania Trump, Britain Prime Minister Theresa May, Switzerland president among other dignitaries.

The ties between Kenya and France have been intact, with France recognizing Kenya as playing a key role in regional stability.

Cooperation between both countries increased tremendously especially after the inclusion of Kenya in the Priority Solidarity Zone (ZSP) by the French government in 1999.
