According to Kimani Ichung’wa, popular musician Kimani Wa Turacco received money from a 'cartel of influential people' plotting the DP's downfall to compose and produce the 'Hatuna Deni ya Mtu, Kitaeleweka' track, which has since gone viral.

"There are powerful politicians and top civil servants out there to sabotage William Ruto's 2022 bid. It is a cartel of haters who created the debt narrative and sponsored the artist to come up with the song," said Ichung’wa during Inooro's Kiririmbi show on Sunday.

The MP added: "There is no orphan trending on social media without a sponsor."

Ichung'wa said Mt Kenya does not owe the Rift Valley region any debt and asked the DP’s supporters across the country to trash the track which he argued was produced to put a wedge between them.

"Let's ignore these busybodies and concentrate of paying the debt we have as leaders to Kenyans of fighting corruption and realisation of the Big Four agenda," he said.

The second-time MP expressed confidence that Ruto will get massive backing from the vote-rich Central region to take over power from President Uhuru Kenyatta.

"President Uhuru told us during a past Parliamentary Group (PG) meeting that when 2022 comes, he will be personally in-charge of Ruto's campaigns so there is nothing to worry," said Ichung'wa.
