Ruto is already in a numerical crisis, with the Central region which was expected to fully back him seemingly growing hesitant, judging by latest political activities including a new song indicating that he might have it hard securing the Mount Kenyavote.

Since his Rift Valley region alone is not enough to propel him to State House, Ruto will be obviously looking for the support of other regions in a bid to fill his vote basket, Luo Nyanza being one of them.

However, the region remains solidly behind opposition leader Raila Odinga, who is also expected to run in the same race, forcing Ruto to device ways of eating into the region, the first one being appointing point men to drum up support for him.

Here are some of his potential pointmen;

1. Raphael Tuju

The first person he will consider for the task is Jubilee Party Secretary General Raphael Tuju, a sworn anti-Odinga campaigner who has over the years supported the government against the former Prime Minister.

The former Rarieda lawmaker will be more than happy to spearhead Ruto’s grassroot campaigns in the vote rich region, in a bid to prove that he has not lost his political footing as  is currently perceived.

2. Agostino Neto

The former Ndiwa lawmaker was recently quoted asking Odinga to support Ruto’s bid as a thank you token for Ruto’s backing of his unsuccessful 2017 presidential shot.

He has since turned into one of the Orange Party leader’s fiercest critics after his loss to Martin Owino  in the concluded poll and will be an easy target for Ruto.

3. Sylvance Osele

He is a close ally to Neto and is also bitter after his loss in  the ODM primaries as he sought to defend his Kasipul Kabondo seat and will as well be more than willing to help Ruto clinch the vote to get back to Odinga and his allies.
