Though things remain calm as of now, they are expected to take a different turn with time, ahead of the approaching 2022 general polls.

And with the new routine where more and more youthful politicians are making it to top leadership slots during each election, more should be expected in 2022, especially in Luo Nyanza.

The four Nyanza counties of Siaya, Homa Bay, Kisumu and Migori are likely to have new and fresh leaders, some of whom though already in politics, will replace the old ones.

1. Eddy Oketch

In Migori there is a likeliness of the county getting a youthful Senator in the name of Eddy Oketch.

The former has twice in the last 3 years unsuccessfully tried to clinch the seat in 2017 and 2018, bringing himself closer to the throne.

The seat has been switched between Senators Wilfred Machage, Ben Okello and now Ochillo Ayacko, all of who are old.

But judging by Oketch's twin trials, he is likely to make it his time, and only needs to ditch his Federal Party of Kenya (FPK) for the more popular Orange Democratic Movement (ODM).

2. Fred Ouda

In Kisumu, the case could be a similar one, only that here the most likely person to take the seat will be either Kisumu Central lawmaker Fred Ouda.

Sitting senator Fred Outa is very likely to run as a runningmate to his close ally and former Kisumu Deputy Governor Ruth Odinga.

He is vocal and close allies of area kingpin Raila Odinga, making them very likely to win should they join the race.

3. Otiende Amollo

In Siaya, all eyes will be on Rarieda parliamentarian Otiende Amollo.

Though yet to declare his future plans, Amollo alias 'Jabura' is expected to go for a bigger seat judging by his popularity.

His possible next landing is the Senatorial seat whose current holder James Orengo is considered a gubernatorial contestant in 2022.

And he is very likely to win it.

Other youthful politicians to watch include Elisha Odhiambo (Gem), Peter Kaluma (Homa Bay Town and John Mbadi (Suba South).
