High Court sitting in Nyamira on Thursday reinstated Irene Mayaka to Nyamira County Assembly as ODM's bonafide nominee following months of court battles.
Ms. Mayaka, an ODM grassroots mobiliser and leader of famoous Daughters of Raila campign team, had initially beaten Damaris Mouni, another ODM member who had claimed nomination.
Justice Esther Maina noted that the Orange party had legally nominated Ms. Mayaka thus dismissing Mouni's appeal.
"Having scrutinized documents submitted from both sides, I hereby declare that the second Respondent was legally nominated.
"I direct the county assembly clerk to make necessary arrangements by ensuring she is given necessary support," she ruled.
From September, Mouni had been representing the ODM party before Mayaka moved to court having obtained a nomination letter from Orange House.
A magistrate court kicked Mouni out of the chambers before she moved to High Court to overturn the ruling.
