Speaking at Kasarani, Nairobi in Kikuyu, the head of state said it was the prayers of the Akorino faithfuls that had sustained this country this far.

He also described them as having an unimpeachable sense of integrity, saying that he had never seen a member of the religious group arraigned in a court for stealing.

No one understood the importance of peace more than the Akorino, the president contended.

"Just as I have said, you are the true religious leaders of our country. Your prayers from 1922 to today that have sustained this country. Because it is the prayers of  not being selfish and loving the country and your neighbour... You are the people who eat from their sweat. I have never seen an Akrino faithful taken  to court for stealing what does not belong to them.

"You are tye people who understand the importance of peace. (Oguo inyue neinyue dugateri cia  fururu uyu witu. Mahoya manyu kumaga 1922 kinya umuthe nimo maturagia fururi uyu. Tundu ni mahoya makuaga kuiyenda na kuenda fururi na kuenda uria mutiganete nake. Inyue nimooe mono makeria ati muriaga thithino yanyu ona mwashukwa na mwathitwo. Nie dire dona kireba atwaretwo igoti ine kuthitwo todo was kuiya kedo kyene. Inyue neinyue mooe makeria ma modo wothe fata wa thayu.)," President Uhuru said.

The president committed to uniting the country as part of his legacy.

He called on those engaging in politics to stop and start working for the people that elected them.
