Sh375 million has been allocated to Mavoko Sub County by the Machakos County Government in its budget for 2018/19 financial year.

Speaking at Mavoko Sub county offices in Athi River on Tuesday, Maliti said the Machakos County Government has set aside Sh375 million grant for the Mavoko Municipality.

"The money will reinforce the Mavoko sub-county status as an industrial hub through infrastructural improvement in the area," Maliti said.

Maliti who was joined by several residents from the sub county for a public participation exercise said the grant will also be integral in bringing new investments in the surrounding towns.

"Our assurance to Wananchi is that we are committed to implement a people_driven agenda. We want to deal with poverty ruthlessly," Maliti added.

The exercise was aimed at getting input from the residents in regards to services and projects they wish to be prioritized for a good envisioned municipality.

The deputy governor was accompanied by several Members of Machakos County Assembly among them Robert Kisini (Athi River Township) Dan Mbevi (Mlolongo/Syokimau) and George King'ori (Muthwani) wards among other dignified county department heads.

The DG thanked the three MCAs for their support and also  appreciated the people who continue to pursue development agenda.
