Obama, 44th president of USA will visit Siaya on Monday to officially launch the Sauti Kuu Foundation.

The Foundation is an initiative of his sister Dr. Auma Obama.

Addressing the press ahead of Obama’s tour, Siaya County deputy governor Dr James Okumbe said that they hope that the former USA President’s visit will be the start of other prominent persons visiting Siaya for various engagements.

“Obama’s visit will mark the beginning of our engagements with the former president so as to share with him what we would wish as a county to be helped accomplish,” said the deputy governor.

Obama is expected to launch the Sauti Kuu Foundation situated near his ancestral home in Kogelo, Siaya County.

He will head to Siaya shortly after meeting President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM party leader Raila Odinga in Nairobi.

According to Auma Obama, the former USA President’s entourage to Kogelo will consist of 400 dignitaries.

The Kisumu County government has already announced plans to stream Obama’s visit in Kogelo live.

He last visited Kenya in 2015 while serving his second term as USA President.
