There was drama in Kisii on Tuesday as villagers beat up a widow over allegations of having sexual affairs with minors.
The woman, identified as Elizabeth Moraa, is reported to have lost her husband last year after he died in an accident.
Villagers are now accusing Moraa of engaging in sexual activities with young boys, majority of whom are in primary and secondary schools.
This comes after Moraa was on Tuesday night caught in the act with a form three student, who had gone to visit her at her home.
According to Johnson Ondari, a villager, the boy has been behaving suspiciously, something that prompted his parents to investigate him, only to find out that he has been spending time with Moraa.
A section of villagers is said to have trailed him to Moraa's house, where they were caught having sex.
The irate villagers flogged the two in public and condemned Moraa for engaging in the act.
The mother of one admitted to committing the crime and asked for forgiveness. However, the angry villagers could hear none of it and asked Moraa to move out of the village.
"This is not the first time she has been caught having sex with a minor. Last time she was caught with a primary pupil but we only gave her a warning. She is evil and will end up spoiling our young boys," said Ondari.
Confirming the incident, area Assistant Chief Benson Nyagaka asked Moraa to go back to her parents' home until the day she will be summoned by elders in the area.
"I have been hearing these accusations. I've asked Moraa to go back to her parents' home. I will call her back after I consult the elders on what action to take," said Nyagaka.
