This is one of the qualities that should be emulated by leaders from Luo Nyanza, some of whom are too proud, especially Governors who are now even pushing for presidential immunity against prosecution.

leaders have to also realise that they do not need to hold public offices to make a change in the society, especially in Nyanza where leaders are known to go to the extent of engaging in a fist fight over offices.

Such an instance is the late 2016 fight between Homabay town lawmaker Peter Kaluma and his opponent Washington Ogaga at the Homabay Stadium.

The two fought in the presence of the public and opposition leader Raila Odinga.

As a proof of this, Obama is going across the world changing lives as a normal American citizen, after his retirement, and is expected in South Sudan later in the day, after launching a youth vocational center in his ancestral Kogelo village in Siaya County.

Just like Obama who has always remained neutral on the Kenyan political issues despite hailing from the same region as Odinga, yet maintained his relevance and love among Kenyans alike, our leaders have to emulate the same.

They do not need to dance to one side of the political divide’s tune to remain relevant and for political survival and mileage.

All they have to do is do the right thing and everything else will follow as, despite the region being heavily on the opposition side, they can be sure of support as long as they stand for the right thing.
