Duale says that some lawmakers were out to embrasss the House.

In an interview with journalists at Parliament Buildings moments after the Finance Bill 2018 was approved, Duale said that it was unfortunate that some MPs were unruly and chaotic.

He said that MPs should have remained calm and conducted the business of the House in a democratic manner.

"As the Majority leader I apologise for the unruly manner in which some of our colleagues conducted themselves during the vote on the VAT," he said.

Duale, however, said that the government had achieved its agenda as President Uhuru Kenyatta's proposals were approved.

Drama ensued in Parliament as MPs started to vote on the VAT.

The divided MPs engaged in shouting match that saw the House business halted for sometime.

Some of the MPs were heard shouting Uhuru must go! Uhuru must go!.

Others were heard shouting Muturi must go!

Muturi must go!.

A section of MPs was also heard shouting zero tax!

Zero tax!

Other MPs walked out of the House in protest against the VAT.

However, the proposed VAT was approved after MPs in the Chambers could not reach 233, a numbet that would have seen the proposals rejected.

The Parliamentary approval now means that the 8% VAT on fuel and petroleum products takes effect once signed into law.
