Speaking on Radio Maisha on Monday, the opposition’s Amani National Congress (ANC) Deputy Party leader noted that one faction of the party is tirelessly working towards exiting the bloc.

He claimed that the Deputy President William Ruto-led side is silently working on ditching the party, hence its many disagreements with the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led side recently.

According to the former Agriculture Minister, Ruto who is in the race to succeed Uhuru in 2022 is unhappy with Uhuru’s directive against the continued politicking and is, therefore, looking for a way out of the union to continue with his campaigns.

‘’Upande wa Ruto unajaribu kujitenga na upande wa Rais ili aweze kuzingatia kampeni zake za 2022 na ndio maana kila wakati wanapingana na serikali ya Uhuru (Ruto wants to ditch Uhuru to concentrate on 2022, hence his side’s frequent disagreement’s with Uhuru’s administration),’’ he said.

With the latest one being Ruto’s side’s opposition of the ongoing Mau forest environmental conservation operation, Kirwa claimed that Ruto is behind the offensive remarks being made by his allies.

The anti-eviction team is led by Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen who is currently under fire for allegedly insulting both the President and opposition leader Raila Odinga with regards to the eviction, with Kirwa noting that the DP is well behind the remarks.

‘’Murkomen hawezi kusema chochote bila kumhusisha Ruto. Huenda alitumwa na Ruto kumchokora rais zaidi (Murkomen’s words are heavily influenced by Ruto and must have been sent to further provoke Uhuru),’’ he added.
