A section of Kisii County Catholic faithful have reacted after angry faithful at Riomego catholic church in Magwagwa Parish, Nyamira County forcibly chased a priest over immoral allegations.

Father Walter Obara Maticha was chased by members of the church who accused him of chasing young girls and married women for sex.

Kisii locals have termed the incident as a shame among the Catholic priests.

"Mr. Maticha should be sacked immediately since he has turned against the sheep he is leading. We can't afford to have priests like him preaching to our people," said angered Brian Nyamora.

Evans Nyabicha said Mr. Maticha should resign since he was not being fixed.

"The priest should resign since no faithful will trust him. People like him should not be condoned to preach the word of God," said Nyabicha.

Jacinta Morara, a trader at Daraja Mbili market argued that Catholic priest should marry.

"Priests should be allowed to marry because they are also human beings with productive parts functioning instead of hiding their rot in church," said Ms. Morara.

Hellen Magoma defended the priest saying those fixing him should provide evidence over alleged immoral allegations.
