Even as more details on unverified sex video of Wajir Women representative continue trickling in, it has been established that the main suspect Douglas Baya allegedly received Ksh 2 million to create a pornographic content of Fatuma Gedi.

According to a police source involved in the probe, the sponsor of the fake video is a Wajir-based politician.

While presenting the Tuko video editor before a Kiambu court on Friday, Cybercrime investigating officer s led by Bakhith Khaungu told the court that they would be traveling to Wajir county to make further arrests.

While conducting investigations into the incident, the cyber crime team of detectives tracked down the originator of the video that was leaked online using an Internet Protocol address (IP address).

This is a numerical identification assigned to any single device that might be connected to computer networks that use Internet Protocols for communication.

With this, they were able to identify Douglas Baya as the prime suspect.

Thereafter, the suspect was tracked using his mobile phone to Kakamega county where he was eventually arrested on Thursday evening before being presented in a Kiambu court.

However, he was not allowed to respond to any charges until 14 January 2019 when detectives will have obtained a comprehensive forensic report from the Communication Authority of Kenya (CAK).
