His English side Tottenham Hotspurs marched into the semi finals of the UEFA Champions League last night, despite losing 3-4 against rivals Manchester City in the second leg of the quarter final match played at the Etihad Stadium.

The Kenyan midfielder started the match, and played the entire 90 minutes as his side qualified on an-away-goal rule after beating City 1-0 in the first leg last week.

After the match, Wanyama posted his picture clad in a black suit, with a black bag in his right hand and a phone in his left.

“Walking to the semis like...,” Victor Wanyama said.

Spurs will now face Dutch side Ajax Amsterdam in two-legged semi final matches on April 30 and May 07, 2019.

A win for the side will see Argentine Manager Mauricio Pochettino’s charges qualify to the final for the first time in history.

The other semi final match will be the clash of titans between Barcelona and Liverpool.

If he wins the UEFA Champions League trophy with his Spurs team, Wanyama will become the second Kenyan to do so after his elder brother MacDonald Mariga won the title in 2010 while at Italy’s Inter Milan.
