It is alleged that the man identified as Ezekiel Marambe eloped with his daughter-in-law, Jeriah Bosibori and they are currently staying together in a rental house in Masimba.

According to locals, Marambe took advantage of his son David Omwoyo's absence from home to seduce his daughter-in-law.

"We are in shock because Marambe eloped with the wife of his own son. As residents, we can't allow him back in the village until he surrenders his son's wife," said Innocent Okindo, an angry local.

Okindo said the two lovebirds left home on Sunday to rent a house in Masimba.

Evans Babu, an elder in the area condemned the incident terming it a disgrace.

"Marambe should have re-married after his wife died instead of eloping with his son's wife. Such marriages won't be condoned in the village," Babu said.

He appealed to the man to stop humiliating himself and surrender his son's wife.

Area assistant chief Henry Nyang'au termed the incident shameful adding that Marambe will not have peace with his new wife.

"I will do everything possible to ensure he doesn't continue living with Bosibori because it is an abomination," Nyang'au stated.
