Speaking to The Nation while at her home in Mbeme, Kisumu County, Wambita insisted that her son was innocent and alleged that Esther Arunga’s claims were false.

Wambita noted that she could not comprehend why Arunga who had earlier stated that Quincy Timberlake was innocent, changed her statement.

“That is a lie. I don’t understand what she means since she is the one who said that their son did not die at the hands of her husband,” said Wambita, as quoted by the Nation.

“Where was she all this time? This is peculiar to me (sic). It is a lie. I don’t understand it,” she added.

Wambita claimed that she has never seen her son since their last meeting in 2009 in Nairobi.  Her efforts to travel to Australia to meet Quincy Timberlake have all been in vain.

3-year-old Sinclair Timberlake died in 2014 after he was hit by a blunt object.

Esther Arunga will be sentenced on Thursday for being an accessory to murder.
