President Uhuru Kenyatta has finally confirmed that he is indeed headed to Kisumu County for the Universal Healthcare Coverage launch set for Thursday.

He made the announcement during the 55th Jamhuri Day celebration in Nairobi's refurbished Nyayo Stadium on Wednesday, in a heavily attended function.

And though a large section of leaders especially Members of Parliament drawn from Kisumu County already seem excited about the visit, there are always people who share a different opinion.

Consequently, even though Uhuru will be accompanied by opposition leader Raila Odinga who enjoys massive support in the region, there are some leaders who could still snub them.

The most likely person in this context is Kisumu Town West lawmaker Olago Aluoch who has been missing in action even as his counterparts express their readiness to host the Head of State.

He has not been part of the many press conferences led by the leaders lately regarding the tour, proof that he is not as interested in the same and sees no major need to be part.

The latter is also not a fan of either of the leaders, considering that he is allied to and elected on the Ford Kenya party, and will not be subjected to any questioning should he keep off.

He is also not known to attend functions attended by Raila with whom they fell out before the 2013 elections, and this could keep him off.

Is this Kisumu MP planning to snub Uhuru on Thursday? Only time will tell.
