Kilungu Law Courts' Senior Resident Magistrate Charles Mayamba has withdrawn from listening to the defilement case involving 21 suspects from Makueni County.

The suspects have been accused of defiling a 15-year old girl in different days.

The magistrate transferred the case of five suspects to Makindu, Makueni, Tawa, and Kilungu Law Courts.

Mathew Mumbu, a teacher involved in the case who appeared in court today had his case transferred to Makindu Law Courts and set for mention on 24th July 2018.

Paul Musau, a county employee's case was transferred to Tawa Law Courts and set for mention on 26th July 2018.

Mutunga Mwongela and Mutuku Maundu cases will be heard in Makueni Law Courts and set for mention on 18 July 2018.

However, Stephen Ngei's case will continue to be heard in Kilungu Law Courts under Judge Elizabeth Muiru.

Last week, the judge convicted a suspect involved in the defilement ring to life imprisonment while two weeks ago a suspect accused of defiling his five-year-old daughter convicted to 80 years imprisonment.

The judge said that his recent convictions on the suspect may make the suspects fear justice won't be served.

13 more suspects involved in the case haven't been arrested, police are hunting for them.
