Nairobi has turned an animal farm of inequalities after it emerged that Governor Mike Sonko was captured on camera favouring a suspect and being tough on others.

The suspect in question is Kiambu First Lady Susan Wangare.

While calling Kiambu governor Ferdinand Waititu, the Nairobi boss apologised for the arrest and said that Ms Wangare would be released immediately.

Sonko then calls a county official concerned with the constructions and asks him to release Waititu's wife.

He instructs the person at the other end, identified as Ochanda, to give Wangari a lenient cash bail of Sh10,000 and says that the rest will have to remain in custody.

Kenyans have now gone to social media sharing the video and asking why the governor chose to protect a friend's wife while on the other hand leaving the other accomplices to remain behind bars.

The video has raised questions on whether the county will manage to fight cartels if people related to rich politicians are released through backdoor orders while others are left to rot behind bars for not being connected enough.

Here is the video.
