One of ODM Migori MCAs has offered to pay Ksh20, 000 in to offset rent arrears which led to the closure of the ODM party offices in his ward by the landlord.
West Sakwa Ward MCA Nestory Owiyo making the offer called upon other party leaders to contribute to the remainder in order to totally offset the debt.
He also offered to house the party employees who have been working in the office to work from his ward offices until the issue is settled.
According to the area party leadership, the offices were closed by the landlord three months ago over Shs 54, 000 unpaid dues after the leaders who were concerned with payment defaulted, reports the Citizen Digital.
According to West Sakwa ODM youth leader, the party has been having problems with the room owner for a long time due to issues with the payments.
But Regional Party Chairman Juma Akoko has said that the party is considering getting its own premises to act as its offices to avoid such instances going forward.
The ODM party leadership in the region has been having wrangles and a case in point are situations county boss Okoth Obado's has clashed with ODM party leadership over his political affiliations.
