A section of leaders from Ukambani led by Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana put Kalonzo to task on the details of his agreement with Uhuru ahead of the 2022 polls.

Kalonzo has now denied striking a political deal with President Uhuru Kenyatta ahead of 2022 as succession politics continue to take center stage in public events across the nation.

Speaking on Sunday at Isinya in Kajiado East Sub-county during the thanksgiving ceremony of Wiper party official Joshua Olouwasa, Kalonzo said he did not decide to work with Uhuru with any condition as speculations on whether he is seeking his blessings to ascend to power when that time comes.

The Former Vice President said he is committed to building the nation.

He asked leaders not to continue with their speculations.

“I do not have any deal with President Uhuru Kenyatta, I am on the negotiating table. Whatever it is, we will table it there. My commitment now is building bridges and helping in healing this country,” said the Wiper leader

Both Kalonzo and Vice President William Ruto are banking on President Uhuru Kenyatta’s endorsement in order to ascend to power.

The two leaders have maintained that they have what it takes to win the race to the State House.

It remains unclear whether Raila will contest for the same position in the next elections.

The meeting was attended by Kajiado Governor Joseph Ole Lenku, MPs Julius Mawathe (Embakasi South), Daniel Maanzo (Makueni), and Peris Tobiko (Kajiado East).
