Esther Akoth, famously known as Akothee in an Instagram video said the idea about the Turkana tragedy reached him through her fans comments as she has been out of the country lately and she does not watch the news.

"If I didn't read comments I wouldn't know that we are losing our brothers and sisters in Turkana, it has always been one of the hardest hit parts of the country that is facing so many challenges," the Abebo hitmaker said in an Instagram statement.

She was touched and decided to come up with her own Pay bill to help the Turkana and said she will personally go to Turkana during the weekend to deliver what she will have collected by then.

"I will contribute financially, go there and give them food in person, engage my friends to help save a family, the help we shall have contributed as AKOTHEEFANS, we will also need sanitary towels as well, I believe girls are also among the affected," reads part of her Instagram statement.

Celebrated Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi will accompany her to Turkana.

The MPesa Paybill number is 891300 and account number is 31693 and she asked her fans and Kenyans of good will to help contribute anything they have to save a life.
