Governor John Nyagarama has launched HIV/AIDS prevention campaign aimed at reducing new infections.

Speaking on Tuesday at Uhuru Gardens, the county boss said his government is committed in fighting the disease. 

"My government is doing everything possible to ensure there are no new infections of HIV/Aids in the county. 

"Those living with the virus should visit public health centers for consultation and subsequent medication," he said.

He warned county health workers against selling HIV/AIDS drugs to patients.

"Nurses and doctors should not sell drugs to patients. The drugs should be given for free to being living with the virus," he noted. 

The county boss said there confirmed 24,375 cases of HIV/AIDS infections in the county. 

He urged locals to embrace faithfulness for the sake of curbing the disease.
