K24 news anchor Betty Kyallo on Friday, March 15 celebrated her 30th birthday in style.
Instead of throwing a bash in some swanky joint in Nairobi, Betty decided to feature as the subject in the Up Close segment of her Weekend with Betty show.
She was interviewed by her colleague at Media Max Felix Odiwuor popularly known as Jalang’o.
Jalang'o started the interview by visiting Betty’s home where he had breakfast with her mum and two sisters.
It was a moment for viewers to know more about the news anchor.
“Jalas let me tell you something, Betty is our 'kimbelembele' here. She is the loudest and craziest,” Betty’s sister Mercy said as everybody burst out into laughter.
The family revealed how excited they were when Betty made her TV debut.
“We were very very happy that she was finally there...on the screen,” said Betty’s sister, Gloria.
Her mum, however, opened up by revealing that she at one point had warned Betty about something but she did not listen.
“Nilimwarn sometime back but she didn’t listen and vitu zilikuja kuharibika. (I warned her sometime back but she didn't listen and things later went sideways),” the mother said.
Betty also shared with her fans her experience working at K24 and at her beauty parlour Flair by Betty.
The 30-year-old journalist also revealed that she had moved on after her divorce with Denis Okari, adding that she was happy in her new relationship.
