A section of Nyamira locals have expressed their anger over a planned trip by President Uhuru Kenyatta on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 to Kisii county.
Residents led by James Mayaka said Nyamira Governor John Nyagarama should be ashamed of himself since the Head of State may skip Nyamira.
"We have information that Mr Kenyatta won't visit Nyamira because there is no project in Nyamira done by Governor Nyagarama for the president to commission. We elected a failure as governor," said Mayaka.
Julius Onyuri said it will be shame for Nyamira Governor to join his counterpart James Ongwae to welcome Uhuru in Kisii.
"Ongwae has worked very hard to upgrade Kisii Teaching and Referral where the Head of State will commission a number of projects including an oncology center, doctors' hostels and a 250 bed ward while in Nyamira Nyagarama is sleeping on the job moving around with cartels misusing public resources," said angered Mr. Onyuri.
Edna Osore said she will not waste time listening to the President's Kisii visit.
"I will not be willing to listen to President Uhuru's speech if he will pass by Nyamira. Nyamira leaders should wake up and perform," she stated.
