Former Mombasa Senator Omar Hassan, has finally 'resurfaced'.
Omar went silent politically after withdrawing an election petition case against incumbent Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho, early in the year.
The two contested for the gubernatorial seat, with Omar coming third after Jubilee Party's Mombasa businessman Suleiman Shahbal.
Joho retained the seat, prompting Omar who vied through the Wiper Democratic Movement party to file a petition against him, claiming the election was marred by irregularities.
The former human rights commissioner has maintained a low political profile months after joining President Uhuru Kenyatta's Jubilee camp, and declaring that he would never support Joho and his ODM party boss, Opposition chief Raila Odinga.
However, things seem to be going the unexpected way after Omar paid Raila a visit, something that has left Kenyans (especially those following him on social media) surprised.
On Monday, Odinga broke the news of Omar visiting him in Nairobi through social media.
He said: "Former Senator Hassan Omar accompanied by Captain Mohamed Abdi, Chairman - Skyward Express paid me a visit at Capitol Hill sq."
Details of the trio's meeting however, remain scanty.
Two hours later, Omar acknowledged that he indeed met the former premier.
"This afternoon I paid a visit to Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, accompanied by Captain Mohamed Abdi, Chairman - Skyward Express at Capitol Hill sq," said Omar who resigned as Wiper Democratic Movement Secretary-General shortly after losing in the 2017 gubernatorial contest.

During that time, Omar accused his party leader Kalonzo Musyoka, of failing to support him during campaigns.
On November 9, Omar joined friends, family and colleagues of Kalonzo Musyoka in paying last respects to his father the late Mzee Peter Musyoka Mairu who was laid to rest at Tseikuru, Mwingi, Kitui County.
