According to neighbours, the incident happened after the Kabarus Day Secondary School student found the man and his mother making love in their kitchen on Monday.

Confirming the incident, area chief Andrew Rotich said that the suspect lost his temper after the deceased who has been identified as Michael Rono vowed to continue with the affair.

The boy is reported to have assaulted the 65-year-old man and stabbed him with a knife.

"The young man had banished the man from the compound before and when he found him having sex with his mother in the kitchen, he lost his temper. He beat the old man before picking a knife and stabbed him twice in the chest," said the administrator, as quoted by the Standard.

Kericho County Deputy Police Commander Patricia Nasio said that the young man fled after the incident, and the police have since launched a manhunt for him.

"We are investigating the incident. We are on the trail of the suspect and once he is arrested, he will be arraigned in court to face relevant charges," said Nasio.

The police boss also urged young men to desist from interfering in their parents' affairs.

The body of the deceased was moved to the Kaplaketet sub-county morgue pending an autopsy.
