The sugar report saga took another twist Thursday as Dagoretti North Member of Parliament Simba Arati made sensational claims about Leader of the Majority in Parliament Aden Duale.
Speaking in Matungulu Constituency during a funeral ceremony, Arati claimed a ten-man meeting attended by the Garissa Township Member of Parliament preceded the shooting down of the controversial sugar report.
"When the report arrived there was a book and the person who had the report was called. They talked ten people to trash the report... A person by the name of Duale, do you know him? He was part of that meeting," Arati said.
Arati's claims add another layer to what is proving to be a fast-paced melodrama.
Kenya has been reeling from revelations that legislators were compromised to reject the sugar report.
Wajir Women Rep Fatuma Gedi is at the center of the bribery allegations, allegations she has strongly rejected and vowed to sue those making the damning allegations.
