Sakaja said that the President Uhuru Kenyatta-led government has become overambitious. He argued that the country has not reached a point of having such budgets.

The senator said that the economic status of the nation is wanting and the President must do something.

“Our economic issues as a country are because of our ambitious budgets. I am yet to be convinced that we need a 3 trillion budget because the budget gives us a huge deficit. We are trying to do everything at the same time,” he said.

Sakaja, however, said that he supports the President on the implementation of the Big Four Agenda but asked him to slow down over the same. He further urged the government to get its priorities right before it messes up in the long run.

“I support the president and the Big 4 agenda. However, we do not need to rush. The progress has to be continuous,” he added.
