Throughout his speech, Raila explained chronology of events that precipitated him to work with Kenyatta amid election crisis.

In his speech at Sironga grounds during the burial of Henry Obwocha, Raila urged supporters to back the government of the day.

Revisiting post election violence in that country, Raila insisted that he would rather quit politics than seeing people die, giving a practical example of Kiambaa Church where tens of Kenyans died in 2008.

And against his usual swipes, a humbled Ruto kept making points in reference to Raila's speech occasionally saying "Just as Mzee said".

Before inviting Ruto to speak, Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i, whose differences with Raila culminated during post election violence, excited the crowd when he referred Raila as 'Prime Minister'.

At the event, Ruto was seeing rising up to welcome Odinga, despite being senior in government, when the latter arrived late.

Interestingly, after finishing his speech, Ruto also headed directly where Raila was sitted and shook hands for the second time.

Mr. Odinga has often maintained that he is the only one capable of helping DP Ruto ascend to power.

The handshake between Raila and President Uhuru Kenyatta seemed to have caught the DP unaware thus his persistent jibes which have however reduced.
