This comes at a time when the first time county boss seems to be on the upward spiral on matters popularity, thanks to his hilarious and cheerful character.

But in a tweet Monday, Aukot faulted the media and Kenyans for giving too much attention to thugs masquerading as leaders, apparently in reference to the county boss.

"We give too much credit to thugs masquerading as leaders," wrote the former presidential hopeful, in agreement with a Twitter user who made a similar remark.

This comes barely a week after Aukot predicted tough days ahead for Lonyangapuo, thanks to the discovery of millions of shillings worth of fake bills pending payment in the county.

He added that Aukot will not stop the county assembly from passing his (Aukot) Punguza Mizigo referendum push, and should instead prepare to go to jail.

"Tell your good prof that the county Assembly of W. POKOT Will pass #PunguzaMizigoBill2019 because it is pro his people. Tell him to prepare to go home good or jail because of unaccounted millions as documented by Auditor General. This proposal is also in the bill .Mambo bado," he wrote four days ago.
