Mr Ayacko, who was recently elected to Senate following the death of Ben Oluoch, has waged a fight against Governor Okoth Obado, who he accuses of incompetence.

"Met a delegation of leaders from Migori County led by Senator Ochilo Ayacko at Capitol Hill Sq who briefed me about issues in their County," Raila wrote after hosting the delegation.https://twitter.com/RailaOdinga/status/1062320071165526017?s=19.

But at Migori Republic Council Facebook page, memories of October by-election were evoked with his critics describing him as a lady leader.

"You can see even from the dressing itself. No socks, nothing. A good description of a lady leader with zero output," said James Onyango.

Maureen Akinyi added: "Meeting Raila while dressed as such shows how he's just a failure. He served as minister and MP yet did nothing."

But former ODM Deputy Director of Communications Seth Odongo shrugged off the critics, arguing that they are living in the 20th century.

"I don't know how leadership is judged on your dressing code. That's a very bad mentality," he said.

Mr Ayack struggled to beat youthful politician Eddy Oketch, who lost to him by just a slim margin of 25,000 votes in a territory dominated by ODM.
