Speaking to journalists in Wajir Town on Sunday, the former ODM governor expressed dissatisfaction with the Supreme Court verdict.

He said that the petition should have been ruled in his favor owing to the evidence he tabled before the apex court.

“We proved our case to them (Supreme Court judges) but the result came out differently and we are forced to live by it,” he said.

Abdullahi maintained that Governor Abdi’s election was not free and fair.

The former Wajir county boss asked his supporters to calm down and remain peaceful.

“We are greatly dissatisfied and there is nothing we can do because the Supreme Court is the highest and last court in the land,” he added.

The former ODM governor vowed to make a comeback in 2022, stating that Wajir residents need a development-oriented leader.

The apex court validated the election on governor Abdi on Friday last week.

Four judges ruled in favour of governor Abdi while two among them Chief Justice David Maraga and Justice Isaac Lenaola ruled in favour of the petitioner.

The Wajir gubernatorial verdict has since elicited sharp reactions and criticism from a section of legal minds in the country.

Renowned lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi now claims that a Judge allegedly pocketed Sh50 Million to rule in favor of governor Abdi.

Lawyer Abdullahi has vowed to write to CJ Maraga and expose the  Judge.

This comes as Governor Abdi has extended an 'olive branch' to his political rivals urging them to support his development agenda for the sake of Wajir residents.
