The Bungoma Senator had initially come out strongly against the March 9 truce between President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga that conceived that initiative.

In an interview on Wednesday, the opposition figure made a u-turn on the same, terming it a good motive that could rid the nation of its political problems.

He stressed on the need for the 14 member team to propose constitutional changes to among others, reintroduce the parliamentary governance system.

"We want the BBI to be expanded to enable it to include leaders from the other parties. We are hoping that it brings rise to the proposed constitutional amendments," he said.

Wetangula whose party is one of the 4 member parties making up the opposition's National Super Alliance (NASA) was speaking on Bunge La Maisha on Radio Maisha.

He added that he holds no grudge against Raila whom he fiercely castigated for reaching the peace pact with Uhuru without involving him and the remaining NASA party leaders.

Wetangula said that their initial enmity is no longer in existence.

"We have no issues with Raila. What might have happened is now water under the bridge," he added.

Raila has also rooted for constitutional changes to expand the executive to house more individuals.
