Batambuze joined the club at the end of last season after the club lost Godfrey Walusimbi.

Coach Kerr has admitted that Batambuze is a perfect signing, and will replace Walusimbi in his left back role.

“I liked the way Shafik played against Everton; confidence on the ball, knew when to pass, hold and press. He was also good defensively and that was the best part of it, he is a good signing. Yes, we lost a good player in Walusimbi, it was a blow but I believe Shafik will fill his position well," says Kerr as quoted by Goal.

The coach is also impressed with Batambuze's attacking prowess and says it will be a great addition to help George Odhiambo in the attack.

The team jetted back from England last weekend, after playing Everton in a friendly match organised by sponsors Sportpesa.

They will now start preparing for the new KPL season, as well as CAF matches that are set to kick-off this month.
