Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has unmasked a person claiming to be his son in a bid to obtain money by deceiving unsuspecting Kenyans.

Using the name Tony Kabogo, the man is alleged to have been fleecing his culprits by promising to connect them to business deals.

In his Facebook page, the alleged fraudster describes himself as "a business guy who works with matatus called Manchester Thika Road and many jobs (sic)".

Kabogo denied knowing the man and asked Kenyans who spot him to report him to the security personnel.

"This guy is a fraud and an imposter. He is NOT my son. He is a conman be aware. If you spot him report to the nearest police station," posted Kabogo on his official Facebook page on Friday.

The post attracted mixed reactions with some Kenyans claiming to know the alleged fraudster and others revealing they have been victims of his conmanship.

"The other day he was looking for a house girl and he always says ako single with two cute daughters," said Sarah Njeri.

Ruth Mungai disclosed she had seen him in 2018 in Nairobi.

"I saw him last year around Kimathi Street and actually he claimed to be your son mhesh," said Mungai.

Blessed Kelly claimed he wanted to get money from her by promising to connect her with a supermarket job.

"Can't believe this, he lied to me atanipa contract at Quick Matt Ruiru. Oooh, thank you Lord nikamshow sina doo nikakula block (he blocked me after I told him I didn't have money)," stated Kelly.

"He has been coming to my office pretending how he can help us meet you. God is great I never got into his trap," revealed Consolata Wangari Waithaka.
