The embattled Keter has been taped in a recent video implicating Ruto in massive theft of public funds, warning Kenyans against electing him as the president in 2022.

However, in response, Cheruiyot has turned tables on the parliamentarian, terming him a convicted thief who has no moral authority to point a finger at anyone else.

Citing Keter’s arrest earlier this year for allegedly dealing in fake treasury bills worth Sh633 million, the Nandi Senator branded him the biggest thief in the ruling Jubilee Party formation.

‘’Kama kuna mwizi hii Kenya na katika Jubilee ni Keter ambaye alikamatwa akijaribu kuiba mamilioni ya pesa. (He is the biggest thief in Kenya and in Jubilee who was arrested for attempting to rob millions of shillings.),’’ he said on Radio Jambo Monday morning.

He rubbished Keter’s concerns, noting that he is simply trying to use Ruto’s name for political mileage, adding that he is shifting attention from his pending court case and the embarrassment.

‘’Yeye alishikwa akiiba. Anachojaribu kufanya ni kulaumu wengine ili  kutoroka fedheha (He is just using Ruto’s name to evade the shame),’’ added the Senator.

Keter was arrested at the National Bank in Nairobi on February 16 alongside two others, while trying to present the bills to the Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) Governor Patrick Njoroge.
