Speaking in Nairobi on Wednesday, Uhuru said that contrary to what a section of Jubilee Party politicians are saying, Raila is not in any way intending to break the ruling party.

But Barasa on Friday rubbished the claims, insisting that Raila is not in the handshake with a sincere mission, and could be hiding a card under the table.

He insisted that Raila is hiding the truth that he wants to break the party ahead of the 2022 general elections, with an intention of locking out Deputy President William Ruto.

He predicted that Raila will once again take a shot at the top seat, and is therefore out to weaken Ruto ahead of time, to ensure that he emerges the winner at the end of it.

“Raila has an agenda Uhuru is not aware of - to wreck Jubilee. The fact that ODM and JP have not merged, means they are competitors. Politics is about wrecking the boat of your competitors to create a chance for yours,” he told the Standard.

But speaking on Wednesday, Uhuru insisted that Raila has no such plans, and is beside him with the sole intention of helping him steer the nation to success and prosperity.

Barasa is a close ally of the DP who was also repeatedly questioned Raila's intentions, and has repeatedly cautioned the former Prime Minister that he won't be able to bundle him out of Jubilee.

But Raila has also maintained that he remains the opposition boss and the head of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party.
