Police have summoned Governor Okoth Obado’s wife Helen Obado for grilling over the murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.
Helen has not been in the public limelight since the death of Sharon who is said to have been carrying her husband’s child.
The little-known county First Lady was thrust to the limelight on Wednesday, September 12 when Obado paraded her, his son and daughter and distanced himself with the murder of the seven-month pregnant girl.
Before Obado and the wife went for the presser, the Migori County First Lady had posted this message to her Facebook page.
“Finally, I want to say that I'm ready and willing whenever I will be called upon to give further statements so that the real perpetrators can be brought to book. I also want to urge the people of Migori County to stay calm and maintain peace because I know my husband is innocent and together in prayers, we shall succeed in this. Thank you and May God bless you all and may Sharon's soul rest in paradise,” the message read.
