Teso North Member of Parliament (MP) Oku Edward Kaunya has urged President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga to extend the handshake to minority groups in the society.

In a Facebook post, the legislator noted that the country settled down as a result of the handshake between the two political giants, and expects the replica to the be showered in the whole country.

He urged the President to consider minority groups during state appointments.

"The handshake came at the right time and President Uhuru Kenyatta should extend the good deeds to the minority groups like the Iteso in State appointments," he said.

Kaunya expressed his support to the fight against graft, stating that the country will not prosper and develop if corrupt individuals are left hanging.

"As the war on corruption takes up shape, which as legislators we fully support, I urge the public to be patient since the prosecution process is long and I trust our investigate agencies will bring all the perpetrators to book. I will not allow corrupt individuals to thrive in Teso North and the if any, all Citizens have free will to launch the complaint for an action to be taken promptly.

"Corruption is denying our people development they require and the government should brace on and convict all regardless of the political affiliation and class.
