Ongwae while speaking when he attended the burial of Joan Moraa, daughter to the Kisii County Director of Human Resource Duke Ongechi in  Nyantaro village, Nyamira county said DP Ruto should not be allowed to continue fighting agencies responsible in the graft war.

"I stand here to condemn the Deputy President for opposing DCI's involvement in graft war. No leader is above the law to complain about who should fight corruption," he said.

The county boss said every leader stealing public money should be held accountable.

"If money gets lost in Kisii County, who should be held accountable? Is it not me? If Ruto has stolen, he should either surrender the money or be ready to be sent to jail," he noted.

Ongwae said DP Ruto should be stop panicking because agencies fighting corruption have not sided with anyone.

"The claims by DP Ruto and his allies that corruption is targeting one community are false. People can't steal to hide in communities," said Ongwae.

The DP has been under criticism from different quarters over his stand on matters corruption.

Though he has publicly said that he supports the fight against corruption, the DP notes that the purge should not be used to select communities because there are individuals from other tribes as well who steal.
