Residents have evicted and disowned a pastor who allegedly defiled and impregnated a school girl in Kitui County.
The pastor who runs a church in the locality is said to have been teaching children in a Sunday school and that he might have defiled the class seven pupil after the class.
Kitui residents claimed the pastor insulted them while addressing his congregation.
“I have earned myself fame in the past few days, meaning I’m the only standing man in this area,” he allegedly said.
The residents claimed the pastor told them they will be dying one after the other for accusing him of defiling school children.
Talking to the furious residents, one said, "the pastor has to leave our community now for we cannot continue living with a rapist in the name of serving God."
The pastor was allowed to leave after police intervened and rescued him from the agitated mob.
The residents were warned against taking law into their hands.
"Such matters should be reported to the authority and persons with evidence be ready to be a witness for justice to be delivered," said an officer who declined to be mentioned since he is not allowed to speak to the press.
The pastor's wife who had lost hope, claimed this was the third time they were thrown out and disowned by community over defilement accusation on her husband.
On the other hand, the pastor who had no otherwise but to pick his belongings and leave the scene did not utter a word to rubbish the claims.
