Last week, Supreme Court register Esther Nyaiyaki postponed the Nyamira gubernatorial petition mention after Nyambati's team asked for more time.

And on Monday, the case was postponed yet again to September 24th after lawyer Omwansa Ombati for the petitioner asked for more time to file Appeals Court scrutiny in the petition.

Governor Nyagarama's team had already assembled in the Supreme Court ready for the case with lawyer Jones Nyachiro leading the pact.

Mr. Nyambati, a former Kitutu Masaba MP, had his petition thrown both in High Court and Appeals Court.

In the Supreme Court, he has often maintained that he has sufficient evidence to warrant nullification of last year's Nyamira gubernatorial polls.

During the 2017 election, Nyagarama garnered 65,000 while Nyambati emerged second with 59,000 votes.

But in the petition, Nyambati has accused IEBC of vote stuffing in favour of his competitor.

President Uhuru Kenyatta relied a lot on the veteran politician in Nyamira campaigns last year.
