The rising number of teens watching pornographic content has continue to elicit mixed reactions from different factions. An opinion poll has revealed that 55 percent of Kenyan teenagers are watching porn.

The report released by The research from Trends and Insights For Africa (TIFA) showed that most of the teens watching adult content are boys. The research was undertaken in seven schools in Kiambu and Nairobi counties. 

“Half the students have had a discussion on sexual related matters at least once in the past 12months,” TIFA strategy director Kweya Gerry said, as quoted by Citizen TV

It also emerged that information on sex is originating from schools across the country. The report also revealed that social media platforms have been luring teens into watching adult-related content on various sites.

The researchers interviewed 1141 respondents. It also emerged that 51 percent of teenagers in the country are familiar with the use of condoms.

The teens are aware of the idea of safe sex while 10 percent of them know that sex is meant for the married people. The report also showed that the intake alcohol among the teenagers is at 22 percent.

 The researchers also showed that 70 per cent of teenagers prefer remaining at their homes during the holiday seasons. Out of those interviewed, 67 prefer going to the clubs over the holidays.
